Since Pistos Church was founded, we celebrated our 110th baptism today. This number is more than a milestone. It represents the faithful dedication of so many people in our home groups who invited VIPs, shared the gospel, and walked alongside them through the long journey of coming to faith. Behind each of those 110 baptisms stands the prayers, sacrifices, and quiet acts of love from far more people than we can count. We are deeply grateful.
At the same time, we share this number not to celebrate where we have been, but to challenge ourselves about where we are going. We would like to set a goal as a church: 100 more baptisms in the next 10 years. If each home group commits to seeing one person baptized per year, this is absolutely within reach. At that pace, we will surpass 200 total baptisms within a decade.
There is also an honest reality we want to name together. Although 110 people have been baptized since our founding, our current attendance, including LSF members and children, is just over 100. This tells us that many who were baptized have since moved away due to jobs, marriage, visa situations, and other life changes. Reaching new souls is vital, but so is helping those who have already come to faith put down roots and truly belong to this community.
This is why we need prayer. We pray that new believers will continue to be baptized, and that those who are baptized will stay, grow, and make Pistos their home. When a church grows, it does ask more of us in terms of service and energy. But growth also brings something far greater: joy, confidence, and a passion that keeps us from growing weary. When we serve with joy, we do not burn out.
Let this baptism be a fresh starting point for all of us. We encourage every home group to make it a goal to see one baptism this year. Two hundred baptisms and two hundred members in attendance — we believe this is God's desire for our church. As we pray and press forward together, we trust that He will answer, and that testimonies of joy and transformation will multiply among us.
