Blessing the First Shepherd of the Youth House Church

Our Pistos youth group has taken a wonderful step forward — it has become a new House Church, and its first shepherd has been raised up. The one stepping into this precious role is Haemi Lee, who was born in 2002, the very year Pistos began, and has walked alongside our church's history for 24 years.
Haemi is the daughter of Elder Lee, and she has grown up in this church her whole life. She has always had a special love for children. When she was first asked to consider becoming the shepherd of the youth group, she says she felt a burning passion rise up in her heart.
She has already begun leading her House Church, holding two gatherings so far. From the very first meeting, a new VIP guest named Yena Lee attended, and Yena shared how warm and welcoming the atmosphere felt. As a result of this warmth, last Sunday Yena's mother, Jinhee Lee, and her younger brother, Yedo, also came to visit our church for the first time.
It is a great joy and a source of pride for our church that the very first child born into Pistos has now grown up to become a shepherd. We look forward to seeing many more of our own children, raised within this church, rise up to become shepherds in the days ahead.
We call our youth ministry a "House Church" rather than simply a "youth group" because we want our young people to experience the same spirit and blessing of house church ministry that the rest of our congregation shares. That means the youth House Church will also choose a mission field and support a missionary, just as our other House Churches do. As Haemi began her ministry, she thought of Missionary Seojin Ha and his wife, who serve in Erbil, and so she decided to name her House Church "Erbil House."
We ask you to support and bless Erbil House abundantly in the days ahead. Because our youth are not yet able to drive themselves, every gathering depends on parents providing rides, and every event requires the help and cooperation of parents. For this reason, we ask you to hold Haemi and Erbil House with even greater care and support than usual.
Haemi also desires to share her ministry with the parents of the youth group. For this reason, she has chosen to join the Korean-speaking congregation's shepherd meetings rather than the English congregation's, where her own parents are present. This choice reflects both her desire to share her heart of faith with her parents and to carry on their legacy of faith, as well as her deep desire to walk closely with the youth parents and build this ministry together with them.
We look forward to seeing Erbil House continue to flourish, and through it, we pray that the next generation of our church will be firmly established in faith and raised up as faithful disciples of Jesus Christ.
